The wi -fi connection on the PC (MGTS – Windows 10 – TP -Link Archer T9uh) is regularly dropped

Good afternoon. After reading a bunch of forums, still haven’t found the answer.

And so, YES:

  • A router from Vodafone with a claimed 300 Mbps, (I sit on 5 GHz frequency).
  • Stationary computer with Wi-Fi adapter TP-link AC 1900 (Archer T9UH) at the same 5 GHz frequency, through a working USB 3.0 output.

And so, as soon as I installed the drivers (the latest from the site) all worked perfectly, speedtest, and simple observations showed a confident fast speed of the Internet (about 260, 310 Mbit / s (receive / give) on speedtest).

A day passed and I began to notice that the work in the browser became tight, looked speedtest and grayed. The speed on speedtest (hereinafter referred to as ST) was equal to 6.28 Mbit/s (receive/send). I started to sin on the device or on the software. Having rearranged the software, the speed on ST was up to 12.35 Mbps (receive/send). Then I blamed on the provider, but ST on the laptop (5 GHz, and on the iPhone with 5 GHz connection) showed stable 240, 300 Mbps.

I’ve searched many forums, but I haven’t found an answer. Your article helped(/solving-problems-and-errors/resetting-network-settings-in-windows-10/), but after a day of stable internet with speeds of 220+, 300+ Mbit/s everything went back to 3.20 Mbit/s (receiving and giving). I broke my head, and since I’m not a computer wizard, I ask for help, maybe someone else has encountered this?

Answer

Good day. Yes, strange and incomprehensible problem. The 200 – 300 Mbps that your devices show on speedtest.net is a very good connection speed.

Why the speed drops on a desktop computer via TP-link Archer T9UH – it’s hard to say. Only guesses.

The main point – if I reset the network settings again, the speed is normal for some time? Or this solution does not help anymore? Maybe you have some VPN configured in Windows 10, or some program installed that can change Internet connection settings and affect the connection speed? Have you tried simply uninstalling the Archer T9UH Wi-Fi adapter in Device Manager and restarting your computer? And if you reinstall the drivers for Archer T9UH downloaded from the website?

Please give answers to these questions in comments. We will think further.
