Why is the laptop periodically disconnected from the Wi-Fi network of the Tenda F3 router?
Just turns off the Internet, although it writes that it is connected to the Internet, sometimes writes limited access or appears yellow exclamation point where wi-fi. When I click disconnect and then reconnect, the internet works again. Interval of disconnection is different, from 5 minutes to 3 hours. I hope for your help.
Answer
The problem is ambiguous. There may be a lot of reasons and accordingly solutions.
It would be good to find out how your laptop works with other Wi-Fi networks. Does the internet disconnect when you connect to another network. Maybe there is some connection with performing certain tasks on the laptop and disconnecting from Wi-Fi (going into “limited” mode). I understand that for some time after installing the Tenda F3 router the internet worked stably. Maybe the problem appeared after installing some program, or changing settings in Windows 7? Installed the latest version of the Wi-Fi driver from the site of the laptop manufacturer?
What I advise you to do:
- Perform a network reset and reconnect the laptop to your wireless network.
- Write static DNS addresses in the IPv4 protocol properties of the wireless Internet connection.
- Set maximum performance for the wireless network adapter in the power settings and disable the adapter in Device Manager, as instructed here.
- Enable Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) compatibility mode.
- Check the box next to “Connect even if the network is not broadcasting its name (SSID)” in the Wi-Fi network properties. See solution #1 in this article: /solving-problems-and-errors/wi-fi-is-disconnected-in-windows-10-wi-fi-connection-is-falling-off-a-laptop/. It’s using Windows 10 as an example there, but it’s about the same in Windows 7.
I think some of this should work. There’s a chance it’s a hardware problem with the wifi module. Maybe the Tenda F3 is failing as well. But it works fine on other devices.
