Why doesn’t the wireless bridge operate on D-Link Dir-320?
Following your advice I configured D-link Dir-320 router in bridge mode. I connected to the existing Wi-Fi network (on Asus WR RT-AC51U) in the settings wi-fi/client, created a wi-fiClient connection in the WAN section, changed the ip address of the router to 192.168.0.2 in the LAN settings, so that it did not overlap with the IP of the main router. It seems like everything should work, but it doesn’t.
MAC-address of the second router is written (allowed) in MAC-filters of the main router.
By the way, I forgot to mention that I want to distribute Internet on the receiving router (D-link) via cable, via LAN.
Can you have any idea what could be the problem?
Answer
Good afternoon. I think the problem is in the MAC address settings. If the main router (in your case Asus RT-AC51U) gives out Internet , and you configure D-link Dir-320 in wireless bridge mode according to the instructions “client”, “bridge” and “repeater” mode on the D-LINK router, then everything should work without problems.
Already once wrote about a similar problem. Also MAC-address of the router (which connects to another) was written in the list of allowed. And nothing worked. It is not very clear why you added the MAC-address to the allowed list. Is MAC-address filtering configured on Asus RT-AC51U? If yes, you will have to disable it.
You can try to do a reset on your D-link Dir-320 and configure the bridge again according to the instructions. Try to connect to another Wi-Fi network. But I think it’s the MAC address filter settings.
