The ping rises in games and the connection with the router breaks off
But it’s worth it to go to the browser or Desktop all at once ok. no yellow triangles against the connection nothing …. When playing, for example, in Dota, connection failure occurs during the game, say after about 5-10 minutes of play, the ping increases and connection failure occurs.
Router firmware does not change anything … On mobile devices such a problem can not pick up, as on the computer video and everything else works normally, Windows 10, well sometimes on a torrent speed drops to 0 and immediately restored …
Answer
Good day. I think the problem in your case is the router performance. TP-Link TL-WR840N simply can’t handle the load. This is a budget router, which is not suitable for such online games. Perhaps, when you are playing games, it is under load from other devices. There may be some hardware problem with the board or power supply. Because of this, too, the router’s performance may drop. Also because of this may be a drop in speed when downloading torrents.
You have not written how the computer is connected to the router. If by wi-fi, then the problem may be in the performance of the wi-fi receiver itself. But it is unlikely.
You can read more of these articles:
- The router constantly reboots, or has to be rebooted.
- When downloading a torrent, the internet is disconnected. uTorrent and Wi-Fi router.
Try doing a router configuration. Disable WPS, protection against attacks from the network. Perhaps, after that the ping will not drop so much, and there will be no connection failures during online games. You can also try to solve the problem with speed drops during torrent downloads by setting up a torrent client. All information can be found in the articles on the links above.
