Why doesn’t Zyxel Keenetic work after updating the firmware?
I had a lot of trouble with it. Netfriend program does not see it. Wi-Fi was not turned off with the switch. I connected the Internet using a modem connected via USB port, it set up on its own during the day. I switched the switch 5 times or more. I gave up and went to work. In the evening I see that the router settings appeared.
I bought a router-modem. I decided to connect via wireless network in WISP mode. There is this function in the settings, but when trying to reconfigure all the settings were knocked down. And in the settings could not go. I had to constantly switch it to factory settings.
In short, I got tired of it all. I updated it to the first version of the firmware Keenetic-V1.00[BFW.4.4]D0.
It started to connect and configure quickly, as it should. The wi-fi button started working. But I rejoiced early when connecting a wireless router-modem in WISP mode, all the settings started to go astray too. I decided to try another firmware KEENETIC_V2.01[BFW.0]B5. It updated quickly. Maybe it is not from this brand of router. But now I can’t enter the settings.
1. The network connection information of the Broadcom network adapter:
DHCP is not enabled
IPv4 autotuning address 169.254.101.74
Subnet mask 255.255.0.0.0
I can’t access the settings. I tried changing the IPv4 address to 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 – same result. When connecting via cable, the computer writes “unidentified network”.
2. When connecting via Wi-Fi, the router is detected as ZyXEL_Keenetic_FFDOFO.
3. When trying to enter the router settings without cable via wireless network, the router starts rebooting. The same happens if you try to enter the settings via smartphone, the router starts rebooting.
4. Tried to update via KN-1310-Recovery program – it doesn’t update. A window appears to start downloading, but nothing happens.
5. Tried another program tftpd64.464 to update to firmware version 1. The result is the same – no update.
6. The router continues to work as an unidentified network with cable, and as ZyXEL with wireless connection. It does not let you enter the settings.
Please advise me what to do. How do I connect it.

Yuri, the router should be updated with firmware that is strictly suitable for a particular model, revision of the router. This is very important.
Frankly speaking, I don’t know how you searched for firmware and updated it all if you didn’t even specify the router model and revision in the description of your problem. ZyXEL Keenetic is the name of the manufacturer. The router also has a model. The revision of a particular device. It’s all listed on the bottom of the router on the sticker.
