I can not enter the Huawei E8372H modem settings page, a password shift problem

Good afternoon. I bought a Huawei E8372h USB modem on Aliexpress. On the page 192.168.8.1 I enter login password admin-admin. It enters, defines SSID – HUAWEI-9ACB.

Then I don’t check the checkbox to change the password, I click next, on the next tab I tried both Download (update after reboot), and update manually to put the checkboxes, I click next and the change password tab comes out, although I didn’t put the checkbox. Well, I enter the old password and twice a new one, I click ready and the same password change tab pops up and so on to infinity.

When I try to log in after some time I enter the “new” password and ask for a “newer” password. I have not yet passed this “game” further than the password change tab. Windows 10 on the computer, changed browsers, did a reset. The Internet works without notes, but I can not change the password from Wi-Fi, although it is initially set, but there is no “sense of security.” 🙂 🙂 I can’t change the password.

Good afternoon. To be honest, I don’t really understand the problem. Would look at the whole thing, at least screenshots.

As it usually happens on Huawei modems, including Huawei E8372h: go to 192.168.8.1 and see general connection information. Click on the “Login” button – a window appears asking for login and password. Enter admin/admin.

Then you are prompted to change the password from the factory admin to your own. You can agree or click “Later”.

If you press the “Later” button, the web-interface of the Huawei modem opens.

Maybe on your Huawei E8372h it happens somehow differently (which is unlikely). At what stage do you have a problem and this password change window appears? It’s not clear what you tried downloading and updating manually.

I enter the old password and the new one twice, click ready and the same password change tab pops up.

So maybe the password has been changed and you just need to close that window.
